Broader Impacts Workshop

Empowering students to pursue societal impact

This is a one-week program on the societal impact of science that I designed and teach yearly (2025 to present).

Its goals are to teach participants about societal impact, give them an opportunity to reflect their impact identity, and empower them to develop their own impact (typically in context of science communication, public engagement, and educational outreach). The program involves multiple hands-on workshops and a mini-project.

The curriculum is below, with linked slides and activity worksheets. Note that linked documents are not originals used for teaching; file conversions might have damaged formatting and aesthetics.

I created this workshop in my role as co-PI and Director of Education of the MathQuantum research training program.
