Dialogue for Equity
Undergraduate courses on equity in STEM
As part of UMD’s Intergroup Dialogue initiative, I taught two semesters of the undergraduate course Teaching and Learning about Cultural Diversity through Intergroup Dialogue; Equity and Inclusion in Engineering Design (2022 and 2024).
I also co-designed and co-taught one semester of a similar course for life sciences: Navigating Diverse Social Environments through Intergroup Dialogue; Equity & Inclusion in the Life Sciences (2023).
Using my skills and knowledge gained from teaching these courses, I developed and taught a 4-session dialogue series for undergraduate students to explore the role of justice in physics (2022-2025). The schedule is below and I am happy to share more materials upon request.
I created this series in my role as Director for the TREND undergraduate research program.
